From thought-provoking talks to immersive artistic performances, TEDxMarvila invited speakers and performers to reflect on what it truly means to be human in a fast-evolving world. Edu Hub Lisbon was honoured to support this inaugural edition, alongside Martinhal Lisbon Oriente and United Lisbon International School (ULIS), with the event’s reception hosted at the amazing Terrace restaurant at Martinhal Lisbon Oriente/Martinhal Residences —an inspiring space that embodies innovation and community,
TEDxMarvila went beyond thought-provoking talks, integrating artistic expression as a key part of its program. Highlights included Vyra Sachse’s specially commissioned short film Being Human, accompanied by live singing and dance, a mesmerizing opera performance by Marina Terlecka, and The Heart of Being Human art exhibition, which invited reflection on human connection. The evening ended on a high note with DJ sets and live performances showcasing how art and expression shape our shared experience.
Once an industrial neighbourhood, Marvila has emerged as a vibrant district where education, entrepreneurship, and the arts intersect. TEDxMarvila’s launch further solidified its role as a meeting point for forward-thinking minds. For those interested in exploring the local art scene, TEDxMarvila has developed a cultural map of Marvila’s art galleries and iconic street art, the area serves as an open-air museum with plenty to see as you wander around.
At Edu Hub Lisbon, we believe in the power of education and creative exchange to drive meaningful change. TEDxMarvila was a natural fit for our mission, and we look forward to seeing this platform continue to grow in the coming years.
